There are a lot of incredible people doing some amazing things in the world and our guest this week; Steve Miska is one of those people, so it seemed appropriate to invite him back the week of Independence Day (definitely take a listen to the last time he was on—click here..
In his book “Baghdad Underground Railroad: Saving American Allies in Iraq,” Steve shares stories of the brave interpreters that walked alongside himself and many other American soldiers braving the very thick of the Iraq war.
It was a known fact that if you were partnering with Americans; you immediately became a target yourself. For this reason, Steve knew he couldn’t just leave them behind when their services were no longer needed, especially considering his military training and the commitment he was taught to live by “no man left behind”. In today’s episode, he shares some of those stories and the people who have worked with him to help bring many Iraqi and Afghan’s to safety in what can only be described as a quantum effort in belief, leadership and kindness.
